Resources for fundraisers
National Occupational Standards don’t describe ‘how’ you should carry out fundraising. Instead they set out ‘what’ you need to do and the things you need to know and understand. Here we list some of the websites and organisations that have resources for fundraiser together with the organisations that regulate fundraising.

Organisations
The Directory of Social Change provides a range of publications on fundraising management as well as training courses.
The Institute of Fundraising is the UK’s professional body for fundraisers, whether paid or volunteer. It supports fundraisers in a variety of ways, including UK-wide representation, training and produces the Codes of Fundraising Practice
Virtual learning centre developed by the Institute of Fundraising to allow you to learn at your own pace, and at a time and place that suits you. It is flexible, accessible, and affordable.
The FundRaising Standards Board
The FundRaising Standards Board is the new self- regulatory body for fundraising in the UK. It deals with public complaints about fundraising activity and helps to build public confidence in giving to charities.
National Council for Voluntary Organisations
NCVO offers advice for voluntary sector organisations including advice on fundraising with a fundraisers forum and publications.
