BIS launch consultation on future of skills

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) have invited employers, individuals, colleges and training organisations to share their ideas on how they would like skills policy to be set out in the future.

The consultation document Skills for Sustainable Growth outlines BIS’s vision for skills and what are expected to be the key elements of a strategy for delivering it.

Skills - Third Sector believe it is very important that charities, social enterprises, voluntary organisations and the training providers that offer learning to these organisations have their say to ensure the voluntary sector's needs are represented in the national skills strategy.

It is important for people to contribute to this consultation early if they want their views to be considered within the comprehensive spending review.

Read more about our response to the consultation here, we have also prepared some briefing papers that summarise the key points in the policies consultation paper and the funding ideas, along with a summary of the Banks Review.

Have your say on the BIS website.
