Join us in new third sector skills research
The Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) has commissioned new research to examine how third sector organisations can play a full role in both learning and skills and building the Big Society. BIS believes that recent years have seen encouraging closer working and strategic dialogue between government departments and the third sector, policy makers want to understand the contribution that the third sector can make to achieving wider objectives, such as:
- improving participation rates
- increasing effective collaboration across sectors
- engaging greater numbers of ‘hard to reach’ learners
- securing more diversity in learning and skills providers
- saving money through effective collaboration.
We have been leading with NIACE the work to produce the initial baseline report for this research and are now working with NIACE and TSNLA to carry out the primary research. We are looking for charities and social enterprises to contribute to an online questionnaire, potentially participate in focus groups and take part in case study research. Please read more and get in touch if you would like to be part of this significant research project.
